The Manors of Citrus

Family owned, 50 years

Two communities, one family, fifty years.

The Manors of Citrus has looked after families on Florida's Nature Coast for half a century. Today that means two communities, Sugarmill Manor in Homosassa and The Gardens of Crystal River, both family owned and run by a person you can reach by name.

How we got here.

We started with one community and a simple idea: care for older people in Citrus County the way you would want your own parents cared for, close to home, by people who stay. Fifty years later that idea has not changed, and the families we serve are often the children and grandchildren of the people we cared for back then.

Today we run two communities a short drive apart. Both offer assisted living and memory care, and both accept Medicaid. They share a kitchen philosophy, an activities team, and a standard for how a resident should be treated. What they do not share is anonymity: each one is small enough that the administrator knows every resident, and you always know who to call.

That is the part we are most careful to protect as we grow. You will not get a call center. You will get Lauren in Homosassa or Ali in Crystal River, the people who actually run the place your family is considering.

What we hold to.

A real person answers

Every community has a direct line to the administrator who runs it. No intake queue, no switchboard, no waiting on hold to ask a simple question.

We know every resident

The same familiar faces day to day. Our teams stay, so the people caring for your mother or father actually know her routines and his stories.

We stay local

Both communities are minutes from Citrus County families, hospitals, and the waterfront. The people who own and run them live here too.

Care that keeps up

Assisted living and memory care under one roof at both communities, so a move from one to the other does not mean a move across town.
